OVERVIEW OF KANADE:
So, there’s this visual novel called KANADE, and it’s honestly pretty emotional in the best way. It’s about these two pen pals who finally meet up in real life, right as the world’s kinda falling apart. Yeah, the whole planet is being taken over by plants or something, but at the center of it is this super sweet love story that just hits you right in the feels.
You play as this dude named Yuuto, and one day, this half-human, half-alien girl named Kanade just shows up at his place. They’d been sending letters through pigeons (which is actually kinda cool), and now she’s on a mission to save the world by singing… in her mom’s place. Kanade’s such a wholesome character. She’s polite, sings beautifully, and really doesn’t know how Earth works sometimes, which makes her super charming and a little awkward in the cutest way. The whole vibe of the game is about first love, music, and trying to save a dying world with a bit of hope. It’s soft, sad, and sweet all at once.
The art looks amazing (shoutout to Yusano, who’s done some really cool stuff before), and the music’s by some big names in the visual novel world. Plus, Kanade’s voice actor also sings the opening theme, which is kind of a flex.
